South Beach San Francisco Real Estate

Residential real estate in San Francisco’s South Beach area is characterized by luxury mid and high-rise condominium buildings and live/work lofts. The neighborhood was once filled with old warehouses and abandoned buildings but in the last 15 years, a renaissance of sorts has occurred and South Beach is now one of the most sought after areas to reside in San Francisco. South Beach is home to the City’s baseball stadium which changes its name almost as often as the local weather.

The center of South Beach lies near the intersection of Brannan and Delancey Streets. Several gathering spots in the neighborhood include restaurants and coffee shops including Crossroads. The Muni light rail passes along The Embarcadero providing quick transit to downtown. Dominating the skyline is the The Bay Bridge which connects San Francisco with its East Bay neighbors. Also close by are the Cal Train and access roads to 101 South and 280 South which bring commuters back and forth to Silicon Valley and the Peninsula.

Some of the most desirable addresses in South Beach include The Watermark, The Brannan, Bridgeview, Portside, The Clocktower, 301 Bryant and 200 Brannan and the two towers of One Rincon. The recently completed Watermark is a 22-story glass building overlooking the Bay with mesmerizing views of the Bay Bridge. The Brannan is a stunning luxury high-rise condominium complex comprised of three 17 story towers with sweeping Bay and city views. One of South Beach’s first developments is Portside. These two buildings with echoes of the International Style form an outstanding anchor of value at the foot of Main Street. The Clocktower, one of the district’s early developments, is the conversion of a former brick and timber industrial building into spacious live/work lofts. One Rincon, The Infinity and The Millenium, three of the city’s tallest residential structures with commanding views of the Bay and city, and include two the tallest residential buildings west of the Mississippi. Bordered by The Embarcadero, Fifth and Harrison Streets, South Beach is the ideal choice for the person who wants to live in a thriving area central to downtown San Francisco.
